1.5.14 – "Stand Strong"

We are all facing a fierce opponent who is after our souls. We must strengthen ourselves in the power that the Lord supplies so that on the evil day we may be able to stand strong. This lesson will teach us how.

1.12.14 – "Never Alone"

More than 44 percent of all adults in the United States are unmarried; that’s more than 102 million people. Living alone presents many challenges to adults today, but the Lord’s way provides some valuable help to single people.

1.19.14 – "Keeping My Zeal"

Some people live their Christian life to the fullest, while others drift aimlessly. Some are passionate about their faith, while others are apathetic. How can we keep our passion and zeal for God alive?

1.26.14 – "Glorifying God"

Everyone who is called by the name of the Lord has been created to bring glory to God (Isaiah 43:7). We should let our lights shine, that men may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven.

2.2.14 – "Accountable to God"

One day, when your life is over, you must give account to God for how you’ve lived. God will judge each one from His teaching in the Scriptures. He will repay each one for how he has lived.

2.9.14 – "Freedom in Christ"

Paul said, “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” Today we’re going to take a serious look at what it means to be free in Christ.

2.16.14 – "What Have You Done?"

When this life is over, we will look back at our lives wondering what we have done that mattered. Many spend their entire lives pursuing empty paths, but the one who is faithful to God pursues righteousness. What have you done?

2.23.14 – "Be Wise"

Some define wisdom as the art of living successfully in life. The wisdom that comes from God, however, is the wisdom we most need. Wisdom begins with God and one’s faith in Christ as Lord and Savior.

3.2.14 – "The God of the Bible"

Who is the God of the Bible and what is He like? If God did, in fact, create us, then we need to know Him. We need to know how we can come into a relationship with Him and what He desires of us.

3.9.14 – "Gods of This World"

Idolatry is the worship or adoration of anyone or anything other than the LORD God. In ancient times pagan nations had their own gods whom they worshiped. Do people have idols they worship today?

3.16.14 – "One of a Kind"

The Lord Jesus Christ is one of a kind. Though some say He is simply one great spiritual leader among others or He is like other ancient deities, Jesus is indeed unique in His life and in His teaching.

3.23.14 – "A True Testimony"

Can we trust what the four gospel accounts say about Jesus? Are the accounts of Jesus’ life historically accurate? We have good reason to believe we can trust what the Bible says about the life of Jesus Christ.

3.30.14 – "The All Sufficient Word"

The Scriptures teach us all we need to know to live the Christian life on earth and to have eternal life with God in heaven. The Lord Jesus promised the apostles the Holy Spirit would guide them into all the truth.

4.6.14 – "Loving God"

The brightest things in life come because of the love of God. Of all the tasks of mankind, nothing is more important than loving God. In this lesson we’re going to explore how God wishes to be loved and served.

4.13.14 – "Loving God Totally"

Can you truthfully say you totally belong to the Lord? God doesn’t want part-time friends or people who are only fond of Him. God expects His people to be totally committed to Him and to His way.

4.20.14 – "Love and Law"

Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15). The Scriptures teach us how to love God the way He wishes to be loved and the need for keeping His commandments.

4.27.14 – "Do You Love Me?"

Jesus asked Peter three times, “Do you love Me?” For Jesus, love is not merely a feeling. To say that we love the Lord means living for Him by serving others and by fulfilling the work He has given us to do.

5.4.14 – "Salvation in Christ"

Jesus asked, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Jesus brings salvation and forgiveness and eternal life. How precious is our salvation!

5.11.14 – "Staying Right With God"

When we become Christians, we take up our cross for life. There is no turning back. How can we as Christians remain true to our faith and commitment to Christ Jesus and not lose our salvation?

5.18.14 – "Ask, Seek, Knock"

From time to time, all of us feel the need to re-enroll the school of prayer. Recently a friend asked me to help him learn to pray more effectively. As I thought about it, I realized I need to improve my prayer life.

5.25.14 – "Hope"

Hope is as necessary to the soul as oxygen is to the body. The Lord Jesus came into the world that we might have hope. Our hope in Jesus Christ is living and will not put us to shame. Let us hope in Him.

6.1.14 – "Has God Spoken?"

Some people think there is no God, while others say God has done nothing since creating the world. Has God spoken to mankind? Is God involved in the affairs of men? God has not forgotten us but sent Jesus to speak to us.

6.8.14 – "Be Ye Holy"

What does it mean to be holy? God is Himself utterly holy, and He has set apart His people to live holy and righteous lives that conform to His will. It seems the sense of being holy and righteous is vanishing today. What can we do?

6.15.14 – "Speaking Out"

Some think we should never speak out against sin or about the false doctrines we hear. Did Jesus ever speak out against the evils of His day and should we speak out. One thing is sure: if we fail to speak out, the devil will surely have his say.

6.22.14 – "Why Do We Suffer?"

When life comes crashing down, people often respond by asking the question, “Why?” For many troubles of life, there are answers; but some tragedies make no sense. In times like these, we must reach out to God for comfort and strength.

6.29.14 – "Will God Hear My Prayer?"

Most people pray every day, and even unbelievers pray. Remarkably, God gives us this amazing opportunity to pour out our hearts before Him at any time. God, however, wants us to understand that we must pray according to His will.

7.6.14 – "Do We Need God?"

Many assume they have all they need and can live on their own terms. People who think they can do it on their own often forget what God has done for them and their utter need for God for their life and their salvation.

7.13.14 – "Seek Ye First"

Life is filled with so many distractions and worries that people often lose sight of the need to seek God first. Our task in life is to attain the kingdom of God and His righteousness. We’ll explore our need to seek first the kingdom of God.

7.20.14 – "Angry at God"

When painful experiences come our way, we can wonder why God allowed it to happen. Some people get so focused on their hurts they become angry at God or deny His existence. How can we stay faithful in our pain?

7.27.14 – "Come Home"

The world is always suggesting they have something better than God’s way, but those who follow their own path usually find they way is not as easy as they thought. Thankfully, the heart of God longs for His straying children to come home.

The Lord Jesus promised to return to earth someday. Predictions abound, but no one knows when. Every eye will witness His return. In this lesson we’ll study what the Lord will do when He comes for His own.

8.17.14 – "The Resurrection"

What is the resurrection and when will we be raised? How will the resurrection affect me personally? What kind of body will we have in the resurrection? In this lesson, we’ll explore what the Bible says about resurrection.

8.24.14 – "The Judgment"

Since each of us will one day face Judgment, we need to know Who will judge us, what the basis of that judgment will be, and how we can prepare for the Judgment Day. Will you be ready for that day?

8.31.14 – "Heaven"

Every faithful Christian longs to live eternally in heaven with God. Heaven is a blessed place free from the pain and the sin found in this world. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life may enter.

The Scriptures teach that we are called by the gospel of Christ. Your greatest hope, your greatest blessing, and your opportunity for eternal life comes in the gospel. The gospel is good news we should hear and obey.

9.14.14 – "Thy Will Be Done"

The Lord Jesus taught us to pray “Thy will be done on the earth as it is in heaven.” If the will of God was done on earth as it is in heaven, what would happen? How would our lives be different if we practice the will of God?

9.21.14 – "God's Ways"

God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, and God’s ways are not our ways. Many assume the God of the Bible thinks the way they think and does things the way they do them. What is the God of the Bible really like?

9.28.14 – "Keeping My Zeal"

Some people live their Christian life to the fullest, while others drift aimlessly. Some are passionate about their faith, while others are apathetic. How can we keep our passion and zeal for God alive?

10.5.14 – "God the Father"

The Lord Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father, who is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9). Who is the Father in heaven and what can we know about Him? Our Father is not visible to us, but He has revealed Himself in many ways.

10.12.14 – "Jesus the Son"

Jesus frequently describes Him merely as the Son. He is the Son of God and the Son of Man. The Scriptures describe Him as divine but also as coming in the flesh. How do we understand Jesus as both fully human and fully divine?

10.19.14 – "The Holy Spirit"

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament speak of the Holy Spirit. Some versions speak of the Spirit as an “it,” Who or what is the Holy Spirit, and is He a divine person or merely a force or influence in the world?

10.26.14 – "One God, Three Persons"

The Scriptures clearly teach there is but one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), yet the Scripture also describe the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as persons who interact with each other. How can there be three and yet be one?

11.9.14 – "The Devil's Schemes"

Some question whether the devil exists or not, but the Bible reveals all the troubles he brings to this world. The devil is wise and strong, and his agenda is to oppose God in every way. In this program we’ll take a look at his schemes.

11.16.14 – "Doctrine Matters"

Some say it doesn’t matter what you believe; others think no one is interested in doctrine anymore; and still others think we ought to forget doctrine, because it is divisive. How does God look at His doctrine?

11.23.14 – "Give Thanks"

Giving thanks should be as natural for the Christian as breathing air. Every good gift comes from God (James 1:17). Thankfulness describes the basis of our faith in God and our love for God. Let us give thanks.

11.30.14 – "Do You Believe?"

To say we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the gospel means that we are willing to accept what the Bible says is true. What we believe and how we act on our faith is as important as claiming we believe.

12.7.14 – "In Spirit and Truth"

Each Lord’s day the Lord’s church gathers to praise God in worship. What is God’s will for us as we worship? God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.

12.14.14 – "Why am I Here?"

At one time or another everyone asks, “Who am I?” and “Why am I here?” Finding our identity demands that we connect with the God who created us and loves us. Without God life is vain and meaningless.

12.21.14 – "The Gift of Love"

The coming of Jesus into this was truly a gift of love from beginning to end. No one has touched the lives of mankind so wonderfully as the Lord Jesus Christ. In this lesson, we’ll see the impact He has made.

12.28.14 – "A Doer"

As we face the coming year, we need to be doers who will act not merely hearers of the Word. Christianity is no spectator sport; God wants His people to get involved in their faith and worship.
